"Andreas:
Happy to hear that the Mega-G has made it to Deutschland. Happier still to
know that you like it!
As for a shorter wheelbase Mega-G I have good news and bad: the good is
that a 1.5" [38,1 mm] wheelbase is just about done. The bad news is that it will be
another 4 to 5 months before it is available.
The original plan was to give the chassis a flexible wheelbase with two or
three lengths. However, when we looked at the large axle housing that would
be required we decided to produce separate chassis. The entire goal of the
car was realism so we were shaving thousandths everywhere to make it as
small as possible. A large axle housing would have made it too hard to do
open wheel cars as we wanted and would have created clearance problems for
certain very low closed bodies that we imagined doing. The two chassis
solution is somewhat inconvenient and certainly more expensive but far
superior for realism.
I took a look at your gallery, very nice! I especially like the McLaren F1,
Maybach, Lancia Stratos and 250 Lusso. Very nice work indeed. I look
forward to seeing some bodies on Mega-Gs soon and hope that my information
is helpful.
With very best regards,
Steve Russell"
Na, das klingt doch sehr vielversprechend!!! Ich bin sehr gespannt, was dabei herauskommt.
Tschüß,
Andreas
